Murder At The Asylum
Synopsis:
Dr McLeod's exclusive and very expensive clinic for the mentally handicapped in the picturesque village of Killin in Scotland is beset by a black series of accidents. The director, Dr McLeod, a caring and extremely dedicated psychiatrist, works with a unique group of patients. They all believe they are famous figures from world history. His therapies border on the unorthodox and are not without controversy among his staff.
And now his patients are suddenly dying like flies. Napoleon Bonaparte, Mme Curie, Admiral Lord Nelson and Marie Antoinette, have already died. And then Julius Caesar shoots Adolf Hitler with an ‘unloaded’ pistol during rehearsals for a play intended as a therapy.
Another accident - or perhaps even murder?
The police are called in to solve the case. But the accidents do not stop: Marilyn Monroe is poisoned under their very eyes and Julius Caesar falls out of a window. The incompetent Inspector Grant arrests a suspect – who turns out to be innocent – and so it takes a Sherlock Holmes to finally solve the mystery.
‘Murder At The Asylum’ is a full-length comedy that thrives on its fast and witty dialogue, its slapstick and its historical characters. The actors as crazy patients have a field day and can perform with relish.
